Meeting the writers of tomorrow

De Montfort University is holding its annual Cultural Exchanges week! I'm looking forward to attending the Demon Crew event when Creative Writing students will read, perform and talk about their work. I look forward to finding out about their different writing styles - and it's possible this will be my first encounter with a writer whose work will grace our bookshelves in years to come.

 It will be an exciting time for the students, too. They have the chance to showcase their work, and get feedback from their future readers. For some, it will be the first time they have shared their work beyond their usual audience of tutors, friends and fellow students. Even though this may be a nerve-wracking time for them, they will gain valuable experience, and may well go on to perform their work at other events in Leicester, and throughout the country.

I won't miss this event and the opportunity to encounter the next generation of writers.
